2005 Sheffield Hillsborough Hawks U11 & U 14 Awards Evening - (July 1st 2005)

At a very full Hillsborough Arena the Under 11 Hawks (under the guidance of Barrie Wheatcroft) and the U 14 Hawks (under the guidance of Bernie Hunter) celebrated the 2004/05 season. The U11s had come up against some tough West Yorkshire opposition and steadily improved as the season progressed. The coaches were extremely pleased with the progress made against formidable opposition from well establish Rugby League Junior Clubs and took every match as a huge step towards furthering progress next year. The Under 14s had a mixture of a season as the Divisional organisation could not make up their minds as to who would be playing against who. There were a large number of new clubs so the format of the league was changed after two months, which actually did the Hawks a favour. In September & November they managed one win, the league changed and so did the fortunes of the U14s. Some excellent results were achieved against strong West Yorkshire opposition and the coaches were full of praise for the dedication and commitment shown by the players. All the players in both sections were mentioned and praised.............everyone had played their part.

Thanks were then given to the players, their families and everyone else who had tried to ensure that the season had been especially successful and there was an air of eager anticipation awaiting the start of the new season.
